HSE investigate third crane accident in city this year
A man was killed in a mobile crane collapse in Liverpool at the end of last week.
It is understood that the crane overturned on a building site near Wavertree Technology Park. The man was trapped underneath the wreckage, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police and the HSE are investigating the accident. The HSE has sent a construction inspector to the site.
The accident is the third crane accident in Liverpool this year. The recent spate of crane accidents has prompted Building's safer skyline campaign calling for improvements to crane safety.
