Administrator BDO seeks buyers for historic fit-out company
The “majority” of historic contractor Killby & Gayford’s 255 staff have been made redundant, administrator BDO has confirmed.
The 150-year-old contractor, famous for working on scores of prestigious projects including Number 10 Downing Street, fell into administration yesterday.
BDO said it was in the process of seeking a “buyer or buyers” for the assets of the company.
The £77m turnover firm has four offices in Billericay, Cambridge, Clapham and Leeds.
Danny Dartnaill, BDO business restructuring partner, said: “Unfortunately the economic climate and difficult trading conditions significantly affected the business.
“The Joint Administrators are taking all necessary steps to mitigate losses and, going forward, will seek to maximise recoveries for the benefit of all creditors.”
