US designer Peter Marino will have a £200m budget to play with on Peninsula Hotel fit-out
Luxury architect Peter Marino is being lined up to design lavish interiors for the new £500m Peninsula Hotel on London’s Hyde Park Corner, Building can reveal.
Marino (pictured) - known in his native US as the “Leather Daddy of Luxury” for his biker style - will be given a £200m budget to play with for the fit-out, according to one source close to the project.
Another well-placed source said client Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (HSH) “can spend as much as they want… they won’t compromise”.
Sir Robert McAlpine is advising on construction of the Hopkins-designed 190-room hotel.
HSH declined to comment.
