Scheme of 195 homes is first development to come out of four-year framework with Scottish housing association
Affordable housing builder Lovell has won a £22m first contract as part of its new framework with River Clyde Homes.
The builder, part of Morgan Sindall, announced it had started work on the construction of 195 homes at three sites in Port Glasgow, near Greenock, in Inverclyde.
Upon completion, the homes will be available for rent through the housing association. Work is scheduled to finish by May 2012.
The development is the first to come from its four-year framework agreement with River Clyde Homes.
Paul Smith, chief executive of Morgan Sindall plc, said: "This is the first development as part of our framework agreement with River Clyde Homes and we look forward to further developing this relationship in the coming years."
