London borough awards Morgan Sindall subsidiary contract to build 149 homes
Morgan Sindall has been awarded a £25 million contract to build two new sustainable housing schemes for Hackney Council.
Morgan Sindall’s affordable housing division, Lovell, will create a total of 149 new homes across two sites in the borough.
Lovell will build 42 homes for open market sale and 67 affordable rented properties at the former Alexandra National House Site, while 40 affordable rent homes will be developed at a site in Shepherds Lane. The two developments will be built to Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, which requires homes to be 44% more energy efficient than homes built under current building regulations.
