Board member John Leary takes up the role
Lovell has appointed its board member John Leary to a newly-created role of major projects director.
Leary was formerly national operations director and will now lead the firm’s delivery of large-scale housing projects in partnership with the Ministry of Defence.
He will head up the team working on a £200m scheme to create 900 homes for returning troops on Salisbury Plain. Lovell was appointed preferred bidder by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation.
Leary previously headed up Lovell’s fast tracked delivery of 346 homes, in just over a year, for soldiers and their families at MOD Stafford.
Richard Vining will now join the Lovell board as operations director from Metropolitan Housing Trust where he was group executive director of development.
Vining’s 34 year career has included chief executive officer roles at Shepherd Construction and Lorne Stewart.
As a director at Lend Lease he created its £500 million turnover housing and accommodation division, led collaborative partnerships with the MOD and spearheaded development of off-site manufactured homes.
