Sheppard Robson has won a limited design competition to design a £33m biological sciences building for Bristol university.

The six-storey 9000 m² laboratory is arranged in a U-shape around a floating polygonal "pod" of teaching and meeting spaces. The courtyard and pod are intended to foster interaction between students and staff. The building will form part of Feilden Clegg Bradley's masterplan for the expansion of the university's central precinct area. A contractor has not been appointed yet.
