Mount Anvil launches academy backed by housing minister Brandon Lewis
Central London resi developer Mount Anvil has launched its own construction skills academy.
Backed by housing minister Brandon Lewis, the Mount Anvil Skills Academy will provide around 100 apprenticeships, work placements and work experience opportunities for young people in London.
The academy has been awarded National Skills Academy for Construction status by the CITB.
It will also provide a further 500 individual learning opportunities for London schools and colleges to help encourage the next generation of workers into the industry.
The Mount Anvil Skills Academy will be based at Keybridge in Vauxhall, where the developer is currently working with housing association A2Dominion to build 441 homes.
Lewis said: “This government is committed to helping young people gain essential skills and prepare for their future careers and schemes like this Mount Anvil National Skills Academy are playing an important part in achieving that.
“Construction offers an exciting and rewarding career and we need to build a new generation of home grown talented, ambitious and highly skilled construction workers.”
