Appointment follows promotion of Neil Martin earlier this summer
Lendlease has confirmed Simon Gorski as its new managing director for its construction business in Europe.
He replaces Neil Martin who earlier this summer was promoted to the role of chief operating officer for Lendlease in Europe.
A former army officer, Gorski joined Lendlease in 2004 as a commercial manager and is currently in charge of the firm’s regional business.
These jobs include its work to revamp the grade I-listed Manchester Town Hall under a £330m deal. Gorski also spearheaded Lendlease’s successful bid to become the sole firm on Scape’s national construction framework for jobs worth £50m or more.
He also worked on major defence schemes, when the firm was known as Bovis Lend Lease, including the £480m regional prime contract in the South-west carrying out new build and maintenance work across Ministry of Defence sites in the region and Project SLAM – which involved building 23,000 bedrooms for the MoD.
Gorski said: “My focus will be to ensure Lendlease remains a leader in the construction sector.”
He started his career in construction at John Laing working as QS for five years before leaving to join the army in 1994 where he spent the first 12 months of his new career at the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst.
