A 160m-high tower in Abu Dhabi has recently been certified by Guinness World Records as the world’s “furthest leaning man-made tower”

Designed by RMJM for the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, the 35-storey Capital Gate building has been constructed to lean more than 18° westwards, more than four times the incline of its Pisan predecessor. Although the exterior of the tower is complete, it is not scheduled to open until the end of the year. It will accommodate a five-star hotel as well as 20,000m2 of office space.
