Leadbitter wins £30m care homes contract

Leadbitter Group has won a £30m contract to construct a series of assisted living and care home schemes for BPHA housing association.

The projects include care homes in Monkscroft and Bourton-on-the-Water, an extra care facility in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, which was recently taken over by BHPA and a development of 55 extra care flats in Oxford.

Monkscroft Care Home is being constructed on a former school site in Cheltenham and will include 80 bedrooms, 40 of which will comprise a dementia unit, while Bourton-on-the-Water Care Home will feature 74 bedrooms.

Both projects are scheduled for completion in the first half of 2012.
