Contractor will extend eight schools in London borough of Hillingdon
Leadbitter has been awarded a design and build contract to refurbish and extend primary schools in the London borough of Hillingdon worth nearly £17m.
The contractor will complete 17 projects at eight schools across the borough.
The projects range from construction of new two-storey classroom and staff blocks to building new kitchens to refurbishing existing spaces.
Mike Burton, Leadbitter’s project director, said: “We’re delighted to be working with the London Borough of Hillingdon to improve and increase its education facilities.
“The projects are logistically complex not only because we are working within multiple live school sites, but due to the need to decant pupils into new or temporary facilities at different stages in order to refurbish and extend spaces that are currently in use.
“Leadbitter’s extensive experience working in just these types of environments will ensure that these transitions are handled smoothly and that the highest levels of health and safety are maintained.”
