Firm commissioned to create an extensive, multi-stage landscape design for a $2bn prime residential-led scheme
LDA Design has been commissioned to create an extensive, multi-stage landscape design for a $2bn prime residential-led scheme in Mumbai, India.
The pluxury scheme within the west Worli district of Mumbai by Indian developers Omkar is in the heart of Mumbai and marks LDA Design’s first large-scale landscape project in the region.
LDA Design’s commission includes 4 acres of lush landscaped podium above a 12-storey car park with swimming pools, cricket nets, an amphitheatre and an innovative skywalk through the tree canopy.
The surrounding ground floor landscape will feature waterfalls and a sales pavilion - opening in September 2012.
Kirk Nelson, director at LDA Design said: “The concept is being designed in a strong contemporary style, making use of leading edge CNC technology and 3D modelling to create a world class landscape. The concept builds on the history and heritage of Mumbai using the linked-island geography and textiles of Worli to inspire the scheme.”
The scheme consists of three towers, each reaching over 300 metres in height with large triplex penthouses at the very top, incorporating outdoor gardens.
LDA Design is working closely with architect Foster & Partners and interior designer HBA London to design and deliver the scheme. It is due for completion in October 2016.
