Architect reconsider performance rating for Cheshire Oaks after building beats post-occupancy targets
Architecture practice Aukett Swanke is to re-consider the performance rating of its M&S building in Cheshire Oaks after it beat it’s own post-occupancy targets by 20%.
Completed in 2012, the 42,000m2 scheme - which won the ‘Test of Time’ award at last week’s Building Awards - boasts a BREEAM Excellent rating and consists of a hybrid glulam and steel structure clad in 400mm think hempcrete panels. In the first year of operation the building’s energy consumption outstripped design predictions by almost a third.
