Steve Coleby poached for top job at Lovell
Morgan Sindall has raided Laing O’Rourke again for the top job at its housing arm nabbing O’Rourke veteran Steve Coleby to head up its Lovell housing business.
Coleby (pictured) joins in April as the managing director of the business, replacing former Capita boss Jonathan Goring who joined in June 2016 after just six months at Laing O’Rourke.
Goring was promoted last November to a new role to develop Morgan Sindall’s pipeline of housing, regeneration and construction work it carries out in partnership with local authorities, central government and housing associations.
Goring was succeeded on an interim basis by Morgan Sindall’s commercial director Andy Saul.
Coleby has been at Laing O’Rourke for close to 25 years and was most recently the leader of the firm’s UK construction business before becoming its commercial director for Europe and the Middle East.
He was appointed a director of the firm’s plc business back in 2015 but he stepped down last summer – although the firm said he was remaining at the company.
Morgan Sindall chief executive John Morgan said: “Steve will bring with him some fantastic experience including his knowledge in both building and infrastructure.”
