Firm carrying out £195m job for Derwent London
Laing O’Rourke has inked a £195m deal to build a new mixed-use scheme for Derwent London above the Tottenham Court Road Crossrail station in central London.
The firm, which is coming to the end of work on the developer’s 16-storey Brunel Building in Paddington, designed by Fletcher Priest, has been preferred bidder on the project since last summer. Work is due to be completed in November 2021.
The project runs across 285,000 sq ft and includes a 10-storey building with retail and office space as well as a nine-storey building that will have three floors of office space above a 600-seat theatre.
Designed by AHMM, the job was given planning back in 2012. The project team includes Aecom as QS with Arup the structural and services engineer. Project manager is Gardiner & Theobald.
Crossrail handed over the site to Derwent at the beginning of last year.
