Boss of Middle Eastern contractor joins UK’s largest private builder
Laing O’Rourke has recruited the boss of Middle Eastern contractor Al Nabbodah Construction Group, Gary Wells, as its new UK infrastructure managing director.
Wells - who has also previously worked for five years at South African contractor Murray and Roberts and for 15 years at Costain - will take up the post on 4 November.
He will report to Laing O’Rourke’s Eurobe Hub chief executive Roger Robinson.
He was previously chief executive of $800m-turnover Al Naboodah, the United Arab Emirates’ largest private builder.
Laing O’Rourke chief executive Anna Stewart said: “Gary is a dynamic, internationally-focussed infrastructure specialist with an extensive professional network developed within the industry.
“He is an outstanding addition to the Europe Hub senior team, and I know his contributions will accelerate our strategic ambitions to develop our unique business offering through excellence in delivery, reinforcing our brand as a tier one provider in the UK.”
