Developer receives planning permission for 460 homes plus retail and leisure facilities in north-west London
Developer Kitewood, in a joint venture with Royal London Asset Management, has received planning permission for a development on the Edgware Road, north-west London.
The mixed residential and commercial development, designed by Dunnett Craven Architects, has 460 homes, 8,000m2 of retail, a 650m2 health centre, as well as a range of play spaces and a crèche.
The project includes energy saving and recycling measures, including 400m² of photovoltaic panels and a 500m² CHP plant that could also supply power to the wider community.
Kitewood director Bob Grylls said: “We are delighted that Brent Council have had the vision to grant planning permission for such a forward thinking housing community.
"The scheme groups the housing around a series of garden courts, these areas are raised above ground level with the retail and health centre areas located below.”
