Haworth Tompkins-designed riverside scheme creates space for restaurants and retail space

Kingston

Work has completed on the first phase of a Haworth Tompkins-designed riverside scheme in Kingston upon Thames.

The project has re-oriented Bishops Palace House to face the River Thames and created space for five restaurants, six retail units and new public space linking the building to Kingston’s historic town centre. The building sits next to the grade II*-listed Kingston bridge.

The second part of the masterplan will redevelop the upper levels to create 3,500m2 of retail and restaurant space, including a new rooftop bar, and is due to be completed in 2019. The client is Canadian & Portland Estates.
