This minaret-like structure is part of a scheme to celebrate the history of east London


The £700,000 structure, made of eight drum-like sections of stainless steel, is located outside the grade II-listed Brick Lane mosque. The tower was funded from £8.6m donated to Tower Hamlets council to spend on community projects by developer Hammerson.
