Specialst engineering arm KBSE will be responsible for maintenance of major postal centres in Birmingham and Bristol
Specialist engineer Kier Building Services engineers (KBSE) has won a major contract with the Royal Mail covering about a quarter of its operational sites in the UK.
KBSE is handling the new building fabric maintenance operations from its offices in Basingstoke and Cardiff.
Under the previous contract the company worked on behalf of Royal Mail in south Wales and parts of the south west and the home counties. The new contract, however, will see KBSE work on a much broader geographical line-up that includes major centres in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Nottingham, Oxford and Reading.
Ray Manning, KBSE managing director, said: “We have been working on measured term contracts with Royal Mail since 1999. The latest award is a significant step forward in our long-term relationship. It will run for five years, with an option for a further two, and is expected to generate annual turnover of around £3m.”
