Kier boss says housing completions and forward order book are up 22%
The recent interest rise has had little impact on house sales John Dodds, Kier Group chief executive, said at the weekend.
Dodds was speaking at the company’s annual general meeting. He said there were “no current signs” that the 0.25% interest rate rise earlier this month affected its housebuilding division. He said completions and its forward order book are up 22% on last year.
Its construction business has also had a good start to the financial year. Dodds said Kier Regional had achieved record level of revenue in the first quarter.
The support services business has been appointed as the preferred bidder on a repairs and maintenance contract in Harlow which is expected to bring in about £17m for the next 7 to 10 years.
