Kier shareholders have approved the firm’s proposed £221m takeover of May Gurney
In an update to the City today, Kier said 99.6% of Kier shareholders that voted at its general meeting voted in favour of three resolutions enabling Kier to move ahead with the acquisition of May Gurney.
Kier’s proposed takeover, announced in April, trumped Costain’s proposed £178m merger with the service firm.
The green light from Kier’s shareholders follows the approval of May Gurney shareholders yesterday.
Last week the Office for Fair Trading gave the takeover the green light.
Kier said the completion of the acquisition was expected to occur on 8 July.
