Both projects to be built in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
Amid huge uncertainty over the future of the Building Schools for the Future programme, Kier has reached financial close on two schools in Cambridgeshire worth £44.4m.
As part of the Equitix consortium Kier has signed the deal with Cambridgeshire council. The first project, worth £33.4m, will be the Thomas Clarkson Community College. The second will be the Meadowgate School, valued at £11m. Both buildings will be in Wisbech.
Kier Group chief executive Paul Sheffield said: "We are delighted that Kier has been chosen to bring these exciting projects to fruition under the BSF programme and look forward to working closely with all parties involved in their delivery."
Work is due to start in July 2010.
