Constructor will deliver student accommodation block and college building
Kier has won a contract to build a new facility for Liverpool International College as part of a £28m project for Kaplan International.
The construction firm will deliver a 47,000 sq ft, 13-storey, 259 bedroom student accommodation block and three-storey college building for up to 900 students, which will be partnered with the University of Liverpool.
The scheme, which is due to open in September 2019, will be a flagship development in Liverpool Knowledge Quarter’s Paddington Village, the £1bn, 450-acre urban district.
This marks Kier’s second project in the area, adding to the recently completed Sensor City project for Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool.
It also builds on Kier’s portfolio of education projects across the North, having recently been awarded a £28m contract to deliver student accommodation in Leeds and its 329 bedroom accommodation scheme in Newcastle nearing completion.
