Work will start later this year
Kier has landed a scheme to build a new private hospital in Manchester for Nuffield Health.
The scheme will be on the site of Manchester Metropolitan University’s former campus on Hathersage Road.
Nuffield said it was ploughing £70m into the development which will run across 90,000 sq ft and include five operating theatres, an imaging and diagnostic suite, 50 patient rooms and 30 consultation rooms.
Work on the three-storey building is due to start later this year and finish in spring 2019.
Kier, which last week was forced to announce escalating costs associated with closing its Caribbean business, has been growing its presence in Manchester in recent years and earlier this year opened its third office in the city.
It is also building an office scheme in the city centre, called Eleven York Street, which will create 80,000 sq ft of Grade A space.
