Contractor will build six new investigation centres for Norfolk and Suffolk police
UK-based contractor Kier is to form part of a line-up for a major PFI scheme by the police.
Justice Support Services, a consortium comprising Kier Group, Bank of Scotland Corporate and Reliance Secure Task Management, has been appointed the preferred bidder by Norfolk and Suffolk police authorities for the Two Counties Police Investigation Centres Project.
The PFI development, one of the largest within the police sector, will build and run six new police investigation facilities across both counties for 30 years.
Kier Regional will build the centres under a £60m construction contract. Centres are planned for Wymondham, Aylsham, Great Yarmouth, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and King’s Lynn.
The project is scheduled for completion by summer 2010.
