Housing and Regeneration Bill is expected to be published tomorrow

The government is to publish the Housing and Regeneration Bill on Friday, according to government officials.

The Bill will pave the way for the creation of the Homes and Communities Agency, merging the functions of the Housing Corporation and regeneration agency English Partnerships. This agency will be key to pushing through the government’s planned increase in house building, as well as the drive for 10 new eco towns.

The Bill will also push through reforms to social housing regulation, which will in future be managed by a separate new agency.
