PPP specialist set to recieve RoSPA accolade
John Laing will be presented with a gold award by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) at its occupational health and safety awards next month.
It is the fourth year running that public-private specialist - which manages around 70 projects from planning and funding through to design, construction and operation - has received the award.
Robin Phayre, health, safety, environment & quality manager at the firm, said the recognition from RoSPA was testimony to its hard work in providing safe and healthy conditions for employees and the communities with which it worked.
“To be recognised with a Gold award is an accolade we are extremely proud of, encouraging us to continue to maintain and improve our health and safety performance,” he said.
RoSPA awards manager David Rawlins said the programme provided well-deserved recognition for winners and “spurs on” other organisations to raise their standards in accident and ill health prevention.
“We congratulate John Laing plc on its success and encourage it, and all our other winners, to remain committed to safety and health, an approach that is well recognised to be good for workers and the bottom line,” he said.
The award will be presented at a gala event in Birmingham on May 17, the last day of Safety & Health Expo 2012.
