Project on London’s South Bank is for UK’s oldest dance company
ISG has won an £8m job to build a six-storey dance studio for the UK’s oldest dance company, the Rambert Dance Company.
The development designed by Allies and Morrison will be located behind the Royal National Theatre building on London’s South Bank.
Facilities include three double height high-specification dance studios, the largest of which incorporates retractable seating for 50 people and has an adjacent sound studio, a range of treatment rooms, as well as administrative offices.
The Rambert Dance Company archive, dating back to 1926, will be housed in a specially designed facility and also features a community outreach centre.
The project is due to commence at the end of May, with completion scheduled for the end of 2012.
