Fit-out firm awarded pre-construction contract for Sunset Waltham Cross Studios
ISG has been awarded a pre-construction contract to develop a Hertfordshire film and TV facility, the first outside the US for the studio behind ‘La La Land’ and ‘When Harry Met Sally’.
Real estate firm Hudson Pacific Properties, which owns Sunset Studios, has partnered with private equity firm Blackstone Group to create a new studio on a 90-acre site in Broxbourne, which cost the developers £120m.
ISG, which recorded £2.3bn revenue last year, will be responsible for the design build and fit-out of Sunset Waltham Cross Studios, which will be comprised of four main hubs with 21 sound stages, nine workshops and ancillary buildings.
The project will embrace a modern methods of construction-focused methodology and also includes heritage works to restore existing grade II-listed farm buildings and new landscaping.
It will feature a large photovoltaic installation and reduce resource consumption through rainwater harvesting.
Planning permission for the scheme was granted in July.
