L-shaped Oaklands College scheme by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris will have teaching areas and a sports hall

ISG Jackson has been appointed on a £9m Hertfordshire college designed by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris.

The contract will see ISG Jackson build a combined teaching block and sports hall at Oaklands College’s Smallford Campus in St Albans.

The scheme will feature a two-storey L-shaped steel frame structure housing teaching facilities for art, fashion and design and a sports centre big enough for eight badminton courts and a gym.

Sustainable urban drainage including swales and ponds will help regulate the discharge of water and create a new natural habitat at the site.
