Consortium led by contractor will build and improve 20 schools over the next 10 years
A consortium led by Interserve has been selected as the winning bidder for the £280m Sandwell BSF programme.
The “Environments for Learning” team, led by Interserve, will build and improve 20 schools in the West Midlands borough over the next 10 years.
Some will be procured through the Private Finance Initiative, with Interserve providing FM services for 25 years after construction, and others as design-and-build contracts.
Interserve will provide construction and FM services worth more than £280m over the course of the contract. The firm is expected to begin work on two pilot sites in Rowley Regis and Smethwick this year.
