Isis young offenders' facility will be built inside perimeter of HMP Belmarsh
Interserve has won a £110m contract to design and construct a new prison within the Belmarsh prison campus in Woolwich, east London.
The firm will build HMP/YOI Isis, a 480-place “training prison” for young adult males, on underused land within the existing perimeter wall of HMP Belmarsh.
The job includes the construction of two three-storey residential blocks, a two-storey entrance building, and a central building for teaching and leisure facilities.

Interserve said the building would be constructed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating through the use of a CHP plant and biomass boilers.
Construction is set to begin by the middle of 2010.
