Firm to provide ongoing support services for the next 25 years
Contractor Interserve have been named the preferred bidder to deliver two new regional police headquarters in West Yorkshire worth £150m.
The construction of the two headquarters and custody facilities worth £100m will be followed by Interserve providing £47m of support services over the next 25 years.
The headquarters for West Yorkshire Police Authority and West Yorkshire Police will be located in Leeds and Wakefield and a specialist training centre next to the Wakefield facility will include firearms ranges.
Interserve will team with fund management firm Equitix on the project.
Mark Burns-Williamson, chair of West Yorkshire Police Authority, said: “Throughout the development of the proposals the consortium has demonstrated commitment, vision and a proven ability to deliver innovative facilities on time, on budget.”
Adrian Ringrose, chief executive of Interserve, added: “We are committed to working closely with the community to ensure the local economy benefits from our involvement over the long term.”
