Laing O'Rourke will also benefit from building and maintenance PFI deal
Interserve and John Laing have won a £310m contract to build and maintain a PFI defence complex at Corsham in Wiltshire.
The contract will see Interserve, John Laing and construction partner Laing O'Rourke construct and then manage a centre of communication for the Ministry of Defence, with live-in accommodation for up to 2,200 employees.
Construction will begin immediately and will continue until 2011. Both Interserve and John Laing will contribute £7m of investment to the UK project as part of a 50% equity/sub-debt stake.
Adrian Ringrose, chief executive of Interserve, said: “Working with our consortium partners we shall create and manage a specialised environment that will allow the MoD to exploit fully its world-leading communications expertise.”
