Natural Building Technologies’ (NBT) Pavaclad building system was used in the construction of Waingels College, Reading

The Pavaclad system features NBT Pavatherm Plus woodfibre insulation boards fixed directly to the building’s timber frame in a continuous layer, which is then over-clad in heat-treated softwood. The college is part of the government’s Building Schools for the Future programme, and the company says the Pavaclad system was chosen as it provides a high level of thermal insulation; it achieved a U-value of 0.25W/m2K for the external walls and contributed to an airtightness level of 2.45m3/hr/m2@50Pa.
