Director of Thomasons UK takes the reins
The Institution of Structural Engineers has appointed a director from Guildford-based engineer Thomasons UK as its president.
Nick Russell, director of Thomasons, has been in the structural engineering industry for 34 years working mostly in the commercial, industrial and retail sectors.
He replaces previous ISE president Y.K. Cheng, partner at engineering firm H.K. Cheng & Partners in Hong Kong.
Russell said it was a “great honour” to be appointed president.
He said: “Most of all I look forward to helping to deliver the best Institution that we can for our global membership, improving accessibility and support for structural engineering professionals wherever they are.”
