Construction industry bodies are preparing to make submissions to the political parties if a general election is called.

The Construction Confederation wants the government to make procurement more efficient and maintain investment. Michael Ankers, Construction Products Association chief executive, said he wanted better transport infrastructure, more energy policies, and the enforcing of Part L of the Building Regulations.

A spokesperson for the Institution of Civil Engineers said its key issues were transport infrastructure and waste management. The House Builders Federation said its main issues were land supply and prescriptive regulation.
