Funding for educational institutes and rural electrification
India is to provide financial assistance to Nepal to fund an upgrade of the infrastructure for three educational institutes, and the construction of a rural electrification project in the country.
The upgrade will increase the capacity of the schools in order to meet the requirements of increasing numbers of students.
The rural electrification project will cover six villages in the Sarlahi district and benefit over 4,000 people in the district.
The Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Rakesh Sood, said development, particularly with reference to education, health and infrastructure was paramount for a smooth transition to democracy in Nepal.
