Developer's plans for Salford site include a 46 and 31-storey tower
Developer BSC Group has submitted planning proposals for two tall towers at the Greengate site in Salford.
The Canopus Greengate designs by architect Arca consist of two residential towers of 31 and 46 storeys, and include a pool and spa complex on the roof of the 31-storey tower, and an observation deck on the roof of the 46-storey tower.
A five-star hotel with 220 beds is also planned within the scheme, as well as a new public square and urban park for the area. Completing the development will be a provision for retail space including cafes, bars, restaurants and a crèche.
BSC chief executive Bashar Issa said: “We are very excited about this project, which will rapidly become our flagship scheme in the city. If approval is given, we intend to be adding to the new high rise quarter that’s developing around the River Irwell, with a scheme that will be both impressive in scale and in design.”
Bashar added: “The strategic importance of the Exchange Greengate site as a new urban quarter for the city region is phenomenal. It provides a gateway to Salford, and I feel that its regeneration will be a catalyst for the wider regeneration of the Salford City region.”
