Government confirms Vadera's replacement by former minister in foreign office, environment and skills department
Ian Pearson will replace Baroness Vadera as construction minister, the government confirmed this morning.
The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform said that the Dudley South MP, who has previously held ministerial roles for trade, science and climate change, would fill the gap created by the weekend's Cabinet reshuffle.
Vadera, who was appointed UK construction minister in January, has become minister for economic competitiveness.
Pearson has already worked as a trade minister at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, climate change minister at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and more recently as science minister at the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.
