Gensler scheme in Shoreditch to start next year
Hackney council has given plans by Gensler to build a new hotel in Shoreditch, east London, the green light.
The site on Shoreditch High Street will also include commercial space as well as the 200-room hotel.
It will also include around 12,000sq m of space for offices.
The scheme is being masterminded by US developed Highgate Holdings which also has a number of hotels in its investments including a handful in New York such as the Knickerbocker on Times Square. It is the firm’s first hotel in London.
Construction is expected to start towards by next summer and be completed by the end of 2018.
