BAM Construction could start on site in January 2011 on Park Mains High School in Renfrewshire
Glasgow-based architects Holmes has submitted plans for a new school in Erskine.
The new £33m Park Mains High School for Renfrewshire council, which is due to start on site in January 2011, will accommodate 1400 pupils and 136 staff.
It will have teaching spaces arranged across three levels, as well as a range of enhanced PE facilities, including a four court games hall, gymnasium, dance studio, and fitness suite.
A multi-use assembly hall with main stage and tiered stadium style seating has also been designed to accommodate local community activities including drama and theatre groups.
There is a central atrium which will be used as a dining and social area with direct access to external seating areas and playground terraces.
The building aims to achieve a ‘Very Good’ rating under the BREEAM environmental certification scheme.
BAM Construction has been appointed to carry out the works, and is due to complete the project in the summer of 2012.
