Consultant is construction manager on £40m renovation scheme
Consultant Hill International has won a contract by the New York City department of design and construction to provide construction management services on the £40m ( $80m) renovation of New York City Hall.
The three-year contract has a value to Hill of approximately £2.7m .
The building will undergo renovations throughout the structure including exterior and roofing renovations, steps refinishing, new electrical, fire, AV and HVAC systems, elevator modernisation and complete renovation of all interior spaces.
The oldest city hall in the nation that still houses its original governmental functions, New York City Hall is considered one of the finest architectural achievements of its period. Constructed from 1803 to 1812, it is a designated city landmark and its rotunda is a designated interior landmark as well.
