New project support framework will cover a wider range of services that will appeal to smaller enterprises.

The Highways Agency is inviting smaller companies to bid for jobs in its new project support framework.

The services contracts on offer are set out in the project support framework, which is split into two broad areas.

The first concentrates on consultancy services for general project management, contract management, cost control and surveying work.

The second is looking for companies to perform smaller, more specialist tasks like specialist archaeology and management of the Agency’s traffic officer vehicle fleet.

Highways Agency project leader Ian Sweeting said: “We are replacing the existing framework with a new framework to cover a wider range of services. We hope that the specialist areas of the framework will appeal to smaller enterprises, who wouldn’t normally consider bidding for such work.”

The Agency has advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union.
