Upmarket block features 49 apartments
Herzog & de Meuron has unveiled plans for a new residential block in New York’s West Village.
Called 160 Leroy, the scheme features 49 apartments with views of the Freedom Tower, the Hudson River and George Washington Bridge.
Residents will also benefit from a private garden designed by Madison Cox who has designed gardens for pop star Sting, Italian industrialists, the Agnelli family, and the city’s ex-mayor Michael Bloomberg.
The architect is working for developer Ian Schrager Company with the pair having previously teamed up for a brace of residential schemes in Manhattan – including a hotel and resi project at the Bowery which is due to open next year.
