Legal & General and Interserve are new names on the framework, Laing O’Rourke back in favour

The Homes & Communities Agency has picked 70 housebuilders and contractors for its new £8bn housing delivery panel.

The framework will run from today for a period of four years.

Legal & General, which plans to build thousands of modular homes in its new Yorkshire factory, is one of the new names on the panel.

Interserve also makes the framework for the first time. Laing O’Rourke returns to the panel, after being dropped by the HCA four years ago. They join other big contractor groups on the framework, including Kier, Mace, Wates and Willmott Dixon.

Major housebuilders selected for the delivery panel include Barratt, Bellway and Taylor Wimpey.

The framework will be used to procure housing-led developments on land owned by public sector bodies and the HCA.

It is made up of five regional lots, covering: north east, Yorkshire and the Humber (37 lots); north west (39); Midlands (41); east and south east (39); south and south west (37). Most large organisations have been selected for more than one lot.

“We hope as many local authorities and public bodies as possible use our improved delivery partner panel to increase the pace of construction of new homes, while saving time, effort and costs,” said Nick Walkley, chief executive of the HCA, which will rebrand as Homes England this autumn.

The HCA said the panel has delivered over 43,500 homes through 258 schemes during the past seven years.
