New list of firms is part of drive to consolidate 21 specialist frameworks into just four

The Homes and Communities Agency has appointed 15 firms to its new engineering framework.

The HCA is in the process of replacing 21 specialist frameworks with four broader ones. A multi-disciplinary and property framework were awarded last year, while a design framework will be appointed in the coming months.

The agency estimates that this should speed up the procurement process by at least four months.

The successful companies are:

  • Atkins
  • Clarke Bond
  • Gifford
  • Halcrow Group
  • Hyder Consulting (UK)
  • Jacobs Engineering (UK)
  • Mott MacDonald
  • Mouchel
  • Parsons Brinckerhoff
  • Scott Wilson
  • AECOM
  • Campbell Reith Hill
  • Ove Arup and Partners International
  • WSP UK
  • WYG Engineering

Steve Carr, head of new business and economics at the HCA, said: “Our new engineering framework panel shows the type of support we can offer to the sector, making it quicker and cheaper for local authorities and other publicly funded bodies to buy the technical advice and services they need.

“This enabling expertise adds value to our investment, and as well as our framework panels the HCA can offer further help and advice on procuring technical services.  It’s all part of working with local authorities at their request to help them achieve ambitions for their areas,” he said.

The HCA said that over £100m of business has been procured through its existing frameworks over the past three years.
