Private equity firm evaluates options including an offer for Wembley Arena owner

Private equity firm HBOS has confirmed it is considering its options over a potential takeover bid for developer Quintain.

HBOS subsidiary Quill Securities told the stock exchange yesterday that it was “evaluating” its options on Quintain, including making an offer for the company.

The developer, which is working on the regeneration of land around Wembley stadium, is valued at about £1.2bn.

Quintain also owns Wembley Arena and land surrounding the Millennium Dome.
